OROGRAFIE

The orografia of Gran Canaria is increasing from the coast of the center and the top, where you can find the most highest peaks: el Pico de las Nieves (1.950m.) and Roque Nublo (1813m.)

The top is surrounded by a serie of craters which are forming the topend of the ravines.

Gran Canaria has a coastkine of 236 Km where sandy beaches prevaling in the South east. Here we can find the excepcional Playa del Ingles and the dunes of Maspalomas. In the West ans South-west the cliffs are dominating, while in the North and North-east the tow types of coast interchange, this offers a great variety of beachesand bays.

Mother Nature has been very generous with Gran Canaria, she gave her most diverse types of landscapes, which allows a big variety of tourism.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the capital of the Island, can be found in the North in a magnificent enclave formed by two bays and their beaches. Playa de Las Canteras and Playa de las Alcaravaneras.

Established on June 23, 1.478, it has an important historical and cultural basis , almost completely concentrated in the historical and colonial district of Vegueta.

The city has a good infraestructure of hotels and apartments and has great communications with other important popular areas of the island.

The harbor of Las Palmas (Puerto de la Luz) is one of the most important harbors of Spain, and this gives the cosmopolitan caracter to this city which distinguishes this city from other cities of the archipielago.
